IIM Bodh Gaya students start a school for children of daily wage workers

Students of B-school under the program named ‘Tarakki’ will spend 5 days a week with children and help them in their studies.  These students are actively doing social welfare under the club named ‘Pragati: The Social Service Club’.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya students in collaboration with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has opened a school for children of daily wage workers who are engaged in the construction of the B-school campus at Bodh Gaya. 

Students of B-school under the program named ‘Tarakki’ will spend 5 days a week with children and help them in their studies.  These students are actively doing social welfare under the club named ‘Pragati: The Social Service Club’.

The ‘Pragati: The Social Service Club’ inculcates social responsibility in future managers/leaders. The SIG aims to promote social awareness and conducting activities focused on educating students about the pressing issues across the globe. It also offers volunteering opportunities, leadership experiences, and career exploration. The club initiates activities like remedies for social causes like environmental degradation through plantation drive etc. Tie-up with local authorities to promote local culture like Pitrapaksha festival and Kalachakra festival. Blood donation camp, mini marathon to promote a healthy lifestyle. Promote education focusing on financial inclusion.

SCI has previously organized hearing and walking aids campaign, Water conservation seminar, blood donation day, and Run for unity events.
