International Day of Mathematics 2024: Each year on March 14, all countries participate in the International Day of Mathematics (IDM) by organizing activities in schools, museums, libraries, and other venues.
International Day of Mathematics is a project led by the International Mathematical Union, with a new theme each year. At UNESCO’s 205th session, the Executive Council of UNESCO declared March 14 as International Day of Mathematics.

International Day of Mathematics history:
As a relatively new event, it was first celebrated in 2020 on the 14th of March. The purpose was, and still is, to encourage, support, and assist international mathematics activities and further development of mathematics.
First year’s theme was ‘Mathematics is Everywhere,’ a theme that explored how mathematics is found in science, technology, art, games, and many other activities.
Previously, the theme of the event has also been ‘Mathematics for a Better World’. This concept emphasizes how mathematics is used throughout our world, with a special emphasis on how mathematics improves our lives. Inventions such as artificial intelligence, rockets and satellites are made possible by mathematical codes.
