International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2024: Throughout the period from 1941 to 1945, Nazi Germany and its allies executed, in an organized fashion, more than six million Jews. The Shoah, or Holocaust, referred to as the “Final Solution” of Nazi Germany, aimed to exterminate all Jewish individuals within the country’s control. By the time this abhorrent deed came to an end, approximately two-thirds of the Jewish population in Europe had perished. The 42nd plenary session of the United Nations General Assembly on November 1, 2005, officially observed International Holocaust Remembrance Day, as per resolution 60/7. Join us in remembering the Holocaust on January 27 to stop future atrocities of the same nature.
Observing International Holocaust Memorial Day
A Holocaust Museum Visit
There are Holocaust museums situated in numerous countries, including the United States. In Washington, D.C., the United States Holocaust Museum is on the National Mall.
Contribute to the Holocaust Museum
Every type of museum is an asset to any society. Contributions to the Holocaust Museum ensure that their vital information remains accessible.
Assist a Holocaust survivor
A nonprofit organization for survivors, The Blue Card, estimates that one-third of the one hundred thousand survivors in the United States are living below the poverty line. Every survivor will be elderly and in need of assistance. Assist another person by purchasing supplies for them or repairing their fence. Exhibit the compassion they were previously oblivious to.
