iPhone Fold Launch: After many years of making the same flat-style phones, Apple is now expected to launch its first foldable iPhone. The exact name is still not fixed. Some leaks call it iPhone Fold, while others say iPhone Ultra. Even though Apple has not confirmed anything yet, many reports in recent months have shared what this new phone could look like and what it may offer.
This device is being talked about as a big change for Apple. Instead of a normal phone shape, it will open like a book. The company is trying to enter the foldable market where other brands are already present.

Big Screen and Slim Design
The new phone is expected to come with two screens. When closed, it may have a 5.5-inch OLED display. When opened, the inside screen could be around 7.8 inches with a 4:3 ratio, making it feel like a small tablet.
Even with two screens, the phone could be very thin. Reports say it may be only 4.5mm thick when fully opened. Apple might use a mix of titanium and aluminium to keep the phone strong and cool at the same time.
There are also talks about a better folding system. The screen crease may be almost invisible because of ultra-thin glass, special glue, and a liquid metal hinge. This could make the fold look smooth compared to older foldable phones.
Faster Chip
The phone will likely use a new A20 chip. This chip may be built on a 2nm process, which is newer and better than before. It can be about 15% faster and around 30% more power efficient than older chips like the A19 Pro.
It may also come with 12GB RAM, just like the iPhone 18 Pro series. This will help the phone run Apple’s smart features more smoothly without lag.
Apple might remove the SIM card slot fully, so the phone could work only on eSIM. It may also stop using Qualcomm modems and instead use its own C2 modem for stronger 5G and Wi-Fi 7. For security, Apple could switch from Face ID to Touch ID, with the fingerprint sensor placed in the power button, similar to some iPads.
Camera, Software and Colours
The camera setup is expected to include a 48MP main sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. There may be a small front camera on the outer screen and a 24MP camera hidden under the inner display.

Even though it may have four cameras, it might not include a zoom or telephoto lens. The phone is expected to run on iOS 27 and could be one of the first devices to show Apple’s new software design. It may launch alongside models like iPhone 18 Pro Max. For colours, Apple may keep things simple. Instead of bright shades, the phone could come in black, silver grey, and white options.
Expected Price
The foldable iPhone is likely to be shown during Apple’s September event. This is usually when new iPhones are announced. The exact date is not known yet.
The price is expected to be very high. Reports say it may start above $2,000. Some leaks suggest the 256GB model could cost around $2,320, the 512GB version about $2,610, and the 1TB model close to $2,900. This would make it one of the most expensive phones Apple has ever made. It may cost almost double compared to current Pro models.
