Can you pay after the Deadine?
For taxpayers who do not require audit, the deadline has been set for September 15. The department gave this extra time because of changes in income tax forms, new tax slabs, and rules for capital gains.
Those who need an audit, like companies, proprietorships, or working partners in firms, have until October 31, 2025, to file their ITR. But they must submit their audit report by September 30, 2025, before they can file. As of now, the Income Tax Department has not announced any further extensions, so taxpayers must plan accordingly.
