It’s official! Rami Malek to star with Daniel Craig in James Bond film

The producers of the 25th unnamed James Bond movie have confirmed that Oscar winner Rami Malek will star alongside Daniel Craig.

The news was announced at Ian Fleming’s GoldenEye villa in Jamaica, the place where the author wrote all of the 007 novels by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

Wilson also confirmed the news of Phoebe Waller-Bridge creator of Fleabag has been brought into the team to work on the script of the movie

The film helmed by Cary Joji Fukunaga will be Daniel Craig’s who essays the role of James Bond is his fifth film. It is expected to be his last time playing the role of a spy. The actor has earlier starred in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

The cast of the movie includes Lea Seydoux, reprising her role as Dr. Madelaine Swann from the previous Bond outing Spectre,  Ben Whishaw who returns as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny. Also returning from Spectre are Jeffrey Wright and Rory Kinnear.  Newcomers include Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) and David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

Earlier, the film suffered multiple delays when the original director Danny Boyle opted out of it over creative differences and later when Scott Z Burns was brought in the franchise to give a new life to the story.

The casting of the actor is confirmed but details of his role in the movie are not yet revealed. Earlier, there were reports of the makers offering him a negative role in the film.
