The Jammu-Srinagar highway is closed for safety reasons after landslides triggered by incessant rains on Wednesday, said an official.
“Continuous rain in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district triggered landslides and shooting stones at some places on the highway,” the traffic department official said as per a report in HT.
Notably, the local Met department had declared an adverse weather advisory on Monday.
The Met department forecasted three days of rain in the plains and snow in higher reaches.
