The exam was done in computer-based mode. Around 11.23 lakh students were part of this session. NTA’s public notice from April 8 had already said the result was likely by April 20, and the official JEE Main site shows the Session 2 notices and answer key links.
Tie-breaking Rule and Bonus Marks
Sometimes two or more students get the same total NTA percentile. In that case, NTA follows a tie-breaking order. First, the student with the higher Mathematics percentile gets the better rank. If that is also the same, then Physics percentile is checked.
Even then if the tie still stays, Chemistry percentile is compared. If all three remain equal, then the older candidate gets the higher rank. Students also need to know about dropped questions. The final answer key for Session 2 shows at least one dropped Physics question for the April 4 first shift paper, and live reports said dropped questions lead to full marks being given to all candidates of that shift for those questions under NTA’s rules.
