Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Dr Ajoy Kumar has resigned amid infighting in the party.
In a three page letter, Ajoy Kumar wrote, “Even after my best and honest attempts to take the Congress party’s situation in Jharkhand, my efforts were held back due to some people’s vested interests.”
“Thanks to all for supporting me in my journey – The journey of state president is now over – Thanks & Lots Of Love To All My Supporters,” Ajoy Kumar tweeted.

The resignation comes just a week after factions of Former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay and Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee Ajoy Kumar were involved in a fierce fight on Thursday, August 1. The police had to rush to the Congress office and separated the two groups by performing lathicharge.
