The Governor Draupadi Murmu of Jharkhand appointed Prof. Sonajharia Minz as vice-chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), Dumka.

The Governor Draupadi Murmu of Jharkhand appointed Prof. Sonajharia Minz as vice-chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), Dumka.

Draupadi Murmu is also the Chancellor of the universities in Jharkhand. Prof. Sonajharia Minz is a Professor of School of Computer and Systems Sciences in Jawaher Lal Nehru University, Delhi.

Prof. Sonajharia Minz completed higher studies from Jawaher Lal Nehru University, Delhi and Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai. She has done MSc. in Mathematics from Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai, TN

She is also a Ph.D. holder in Computer Science and M.phil in Computer Science, from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), formerly Siddhu Kanhu University, is a public university located in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand state in eastern India. Its headquarters at Dumka, the second capital of Jharkhand.

The university was founded as Siddhu Kanhu University on 10 January 1992 by an Act of Bihar Legislative Assembly.
