Jio IPO 2026: Reliance Jio Platforms is getting nearer to its IPO. This comes after SEBI sent its comments on the draft offer paper. Now the process is in a more advanced stage.

The deal is expected to rank among the largest public share sales in India. Still, the exact IPO opening date, the price band, and the day it lists on the exchange have not been shared yet.

Jio IPO 2026 Update

Jio Platforms submitted its draft offer document to SEBI on June 19, 2026. SEBI then released its observation letter on August 28, 2026. That letter cleared a major step for the public issue.

Reliance Industries has also shared the SEBI observation letter in its company updates.

What The IPO Includes?

The proposed IPO will include up to 27 crore equity shares. Each share will have a face value of ₹10.

It is set up as a fresh issue. There is no Offer for Sale part in the plan.

Expected Timing

No one has officially named the subscription dates yet.

Some market reports have suggested an October to November 2026 period. The coverage also notes a Moneycontrol report that talks about a similar timeline. Even so, buyers should wait for the final RHP. Only that final document will confirm the dates for opening, closing, and listing.

Jio IPO Size: How Much Could It Raise?

The DRHP proposes a fresh issue of up to 270 million shares, representing approximately 2.9% of Jio Platforms’ post-issue share capital.

The issue is widely expected to raise roughly $3.8 billion, or around ₹35,000-₹38,000 crore, depending on the eventual price.

Reuters reported in August that the proposed IPO could raise about $3.8 billion, which would make it larger than Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 IPO and potentially India’s biggest IPO by issue size.

However, the final issue size in rupee terms will depend on the price discovered through the book-building process.

What to Expect?

Jio Platforms’ final IPO valuation has not yet been officially fixed. Earlier market estimates have placed Jio’s valuation in a broad range of roughly $130 billion to $180 billion. Jefferies had previously valued the business at about $180 billion, while other investment-bank estimates have been lower.

That means the final valuation will be closely watched because the IPO will provide investors with a more direct way to value Jio Platforms separately from Reliance Industries.

Where Will Jio IPO Money Go?

According to the DRHP, a major portion of the proceeds is earmarked for reducing debt at Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Jio Platforms plans to use up to ₹27,500 crore of the IPO proceeds to repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm. The remaining amount is proposed to be used for general corporate purposes.

Jio Platforms Financial Performance

For FY26, Jio Platforms said its revenue was close to ₹1.47 lakh crore. Profit after tax came in at roughly ₹30,049 crore. In the same period, Reliance Jio Infocomm said it had over 524 million customers by March 31, 2026.

Jio has pushed beyond mobile telecom. It has moved into home broadband, enterprise services, cloud, and artificial intelligence. Reuters also noted that the company had more than 533 million subscribers by June 2026.

What To Watch Next?

The Red Herring Prospectus should be the key next step. It is expected to spell out the IPO schedule, the price band, the lot size, and other deal details.

Until those points are published, any talk about the Jio IPO cost, valuation, GMP, or listing date should be seen as guesses. Treat them as unconfirmed.

Now that the SEBI process has advanced, attention is turning to the final pricing and the timing. This could end up being the biggest IPO in India.
