The J&K government once again suspended the internet services in the Kashmir Valley on Saturday, hours after the ban was lifted after Months.

The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department on Friday lifted a month-long ban on 22 social media sites and applications, including Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter, in Kashmir. The access to the banned social media sites was reestablished around 8.30 pm, said an official.

The Jammu and Kashmir on April 26 had banned 22 social media sites. The banned sites and applications included Facebook, Whatsapp and Twitter. The ban was introduced in an attempt to stop the street protests in the Valley.

However, the ban had no or little meaning as the users accessed the banned platform through virtual private networks.
