The Delhi police has filed a chargesheet against for 10 people including former JNU president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid organising out an “anti-national” event at Jawaharlal Nehru University in February 2016. The 10 are accused of carrying out an event at the JNU campus following the hanging of the master behind Parliament-attack of 2001, Afzal Guru.

A charge-sheet with a length of 1200 pages was submitted to the court.

“If the news is true that a chargesheet has been filed, I would like to thank police and Modi ji. The filing of chargesheet after three years, ahead of elections, clearly shows it to be politically motivated. I trust the judiciary of my country”, said Kumar in reaction to the chargesheet.

Earlier, last week, Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik had termed the investigation complex, saying that the team had to visit other states for taking statements.
