Online ordering has become one of the convenient options these days, courtesy rising no. of food delivery start-ups. But we tend to forget the hard working delivery guys who bring our order on time irrespective of the circumstances.
We always think that they are doing all this to earn a living and they won’t be paid much but we couldn’t be more wrong. Recent evidence suggests that the food delivery guys earn a handsome salary including the incentives.
A Reddit user shared a screenshot of a job ad in Goa that was offering delivery boys Rs 22,000 month but the very next post was what gathered attention. The ironic post offered a teacher 10,000 per month that was twice what was offered to the food delivery guy.
Food delivery guys get a monthly incentive for delivering orders on time and also for working well during the rush hours and monsoon. Also, those in the metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru are given as much as Rs 80 to Rs 120 per order along with the incentives.
But on the other side, the educators are offered far less. One interesting fact is that not all the food delivery startups require graduate employees and most of them offer part-time jobs. The Reddit user expressed his feelings and wrote “And then they say the quality of Education is going down. But apparently shaping young minds is not even as important as delivering food.”
