Devara 2 Teaser: Devara 2 Director Koratala Siva and the production house announced that the teaser of Devara 2 will release on May 20, 2026. This date is special because it is Junior NTR’s birthday. Very soon after this #Devara2 started trending and fans began celebrating online.
After the huge success of Devara Part 1, the makers planned the second part on a much bigger scale. Koratala Siva reportedly spent extra time improving the story so the sequel feels stronger and more emotional. Reports said shooting was expected to start in February 2026, with big action scenes and underwater visuals. The team also planned to bring foreign VFX experts to give the film a world-class look.

Devara Part 1 ended with many unanswered questions. The story hinted at secrets from Devara’s past and the rise of his son Varda. Saif Ali Khan was expected to return as the villain Bhaira. Janhvi Kapoor’s role as Thangam was also said to become more important in the sequel. Music director Anirudh Ravichander had already worked on a few songs.
The budget of Devara 2 was said to be 30% higher than the first part. Reports claimed it could reach between ₹400 and ₹500 crore. Because of the scale, trade experts guessed the movie might release in the first half of 2027, possibly during Pongal or summer.
Rumours of Delay
At the same time, confusion started growing around Devara 2. Many media reports claimed the sequel has hit a major delay and might even be shelved. Some industry sources said Junior NTR was not fully happy with the script direction. What was once planned as a two-part story now seems stuck without clear progress.

Junior NTR’s busy schedule has also made things harder. He is currently working on Prashanth Neel’s action film Dragon. After that, he will start another movie with Trivikram Srinivas. Because of these big commitments, reports suggest Devara 2 is no longer a top priority.
On the first anniversary of Devara Part 1, the team confirmed the sequel and raised hopes. Till now, neither Junior NTR nor the producers have made an official statement about cancelling the film.
