Actor Shahid Kapoor has registered his career’s biggest opening with “Kabir Singh”, which raked in over Rs 20 crore on day one of its releases.
The actor has made another record for himself, on the fifth day, Kabir Singh has made it to the Rs 100 crore club thereby becoming the first film of Shahid to reach this spot.
Even after a successful week, the film is still unstoppable at the box office. The film has entered its second week and on Monday, it has collected Rs 9.07 crore. The film’s total business, after an 11-day run in cinemas, stands at Rs 190.64 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film will surpass the lifetime business of the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat in Week 2 itself and that its next target would be Uri: The Surgical Strike. Kabir Singh is an official remake of the 2017 Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. The original film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey, while the Hindi remake features Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
“Kabir Singh” narrates the story of Kabir (Shahid), a young final year medical student who falls in love with Preeti (Kiara), his junior in college. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the film is a T-Series and Cine1 Studios presentation.
