Kangana Ranaut to Join Lock Upp Season 2: Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut is set to make a dramatic return to Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa this weekend. However, unlike the inaugural season where she served as the show’s host, Kangana will enter the Netflix reality series in a new role ‘Janta Ki Awaaz’ (Voice of the People) just before the season’s first termination.
Netflix confirmed that Kangana will join the weekend episode alongside current hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, bringing viewers’ opinions directly into the game as contestants prepare to face their first elimination.

The new “Janta Ki Awaaz” format has been introduced, kind of to make a stronger link between contestants and the audience. In this role, Kangana will take on the public’s viewpoint, ask the inmates about their actions, and also join the show’s first termination proceedings.
Her entry is expected to bring a major shift in the house dynamics, because contestants are going to get direct feedback which mirrors viewers opinions and somehow that can change the whole vibe.
Speaking about her comeback, Kangana said:
“This show has always been about owning your truth, no matter how uncomfortable it is. Joining Farah and Riteish as the jury or the Janta Ki Awaaz this weekend for Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’s very first termination, all I can say is every choice has a price.”

Why Isn’t Kangana Hosting Season 2?
Many fans wondered why Kangana, who successfully hosted the first season in 2022, did not return as the full-time host.
At the launch of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, creator Ektaa Kapoor explained that Season 2 has undergone a complete creative overhaul, including its format, branding, and judge-jailer structure. As part of the revamp, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh were introduced as the new hosts while Kangana returns in a special capacity instead.
Lock Upp Season 2 Streams on Netflix
Unlike the first season, which streamed on ALTBalaji and MX Player, Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is now exclusively available on Netflix.
“The entire format of the show, the whole vision changed and the demographic, the kind of jailer-judge format we had. Nothing of the original show has been kept. Neither the jailer nor the host, so keeping anything of the old would not bring the fresh presentation of the branding. So, I am sure Kangana would have understood,” Ektaa Kapoor said during the launch event in Mumbai.
The second season premiered recently with a refreshed format featuring celebrity contestants, strategic gameplay, emotional confessions, and weekly eliminations.
