Karnataka Local body Election Results, Karnataka Gram Panchayat Election results in 2020 LIVE:

The candidates backed by BJP have won a majority of panchayat seats in Karnataka. Though these polls don’t take place on party symbols, all political parties have put in efforts to ensure that the candidate supported by them wins, so as to have their hold on grassroot level politics. The BJP has so far secured 4,228 seats, followed by the Congress with 2,265 seats, JD(S) 1,167 seats and independents 678 seats.

05:50 PM | The BJP is now leading on 4180 seats while the Congress is ahead on 2570. The JDS is ahead on 1370 seats. Counting is still underway.


12:05 PM | The BJP is now leading on 3805 seats while Congress candidates are ahead on just 1805 seats. The JDS supported candidates are now leading on 720 panchayat seats. Counting is still underway.


11:35 AM | The BJP has taken significant lead against the Congress. It is now leading on 3440 seats while the grand old party is ahead on just 1590 seats.


The BJP is now leading on 2755 seats, while the Congress is ahead on 1475. Kumaraswamy’s JDS is now leading on 547 seats. The counting is underway.


As the counting for the local body elections in Karnataka began at 8 pm, the early trend shows that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a lead with Congress and JDS lacking behind the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) party.

As this time for the Karnataka Local body Election Results, Karnataka Gram Panchayat Election ballot papers were used rather than the old method, the counting will take time and until proper numbers don’t come, it would be hard to interpret which party is leading.

The counting of votes for 70,000 seats spread across 5,728 villages started a few hours back. These seats had gone to poll in two phases- one was on December 22 and December 27. This time as ballot papers were used in the villages except for the district Bidar, where EVM’s were used, so the result would most likely be updated by the end of the day. As of now, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading with 2755 seats with Congress behind at 1475 seats, whereas Kumaraswamy’s JDS is way behind with only 547 seats.

As ballot papers are being counted with a lot of villages coming down to vote for Karnataka Local body Election Results, Karnataka Gram Panchayat Election, so it would take time to interpret as to which party is winning. However, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) backed candidates are leading the race.

The Bhartiya Janata Party, Congress, and JDS are three dominant parties of the state with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) being in power for the past two years. In the last elections of 2018, the saffron party had come out victorious with 104 sets out of 224 but congress came as the second runner up with 80 seats.
