Kashmir unrest: Extra forces deployed after clash

The government has got extra forces into action in the sensitive areas of Kashmir Valley. Normalcy of the valley was disrupted as over sixty people were injured and 3 persons were killed in clash stone-pelters trying to disrupt an anti-militancy operation in Budgam.
A strike has been called by separatists to protest the killing of civilians during a clash with security forces.

The extra forces have been deployed in like Chadoora, in central Kashmir s Budgam district where the killings took place as well as in downtown area of the city.

As a repercussion to the unrest, exam due on Wednesday in the Kashmir University, Central University Kashmir and Islamic University of Science and Technology have been postponed. Most shops and businesses remain shut. Officials say that there is very little public transport and private vehicles are observed only in a few areas.

Shut downs were reported in various parts of Kashmir.

The separatists, including chairmen of both Hurriyat factions – Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Omar Farooq and JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik on Tuesday asked people to observe a shutdown on Wednesday to protest the killings.
