Bollywood megastar is most celebrated in the industry. The actor has always been open about his life and has never shied away from telling about his battle against tuberculosis and hepatitis B. But while he has shared the importance of early detection, he also revealed some shocking insights about it on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
In the latest episode of KBC, during a discussion on tuberculosis and hepatitis B, Amitabh recalled how it was during the first season of the show he started to feel backache. Later he found out that he was mistaking spinal tuberculosis for backache for years together.
Big B also shared that it was after 4-5 years that it was finally detected.

In conversation with Dr. Ramana Rao, Big B said, “Pehle saal, jab maine KBC shuru kiya, uss din se mujhe TB detect hua, spinal TB. Pata hi nahi tha aur teen char saal tak wo dard mai sehta raha aur mai sochta tha ki wo iss uss kursi ki wajah se ho raha hai, but it was actually tuberculosis. Aur detection iska 4-5 saal bad hua. Uske baad maine ilaaj kia aur theek ho gaya.”
He then added, “If I am here in front of you and I am tuberculosis-free, it’s because I got detected well in time and got it treated.”
Not only this, but he also went on recalling the time when 2000 people donated blood to him when he suffered a massive accident in the year 1982 while he was on the death bed. He also shared how in 2006 he was diagnosed with hepatitis B.
