A 45-year-old woman, who lives in Thiruvananthapuram, claimed that popular singer Anuradha Paudwal is her mother. It has left the music industry in shock.
The woman in question also filed a case in the district family court and demanded the singer should pay her Rs 50 crore as compensation as she has denied her a livelihood that was hers by birth.
According to various media reports, the woman who is identified as Karmala Modex alleged that she is the daughter of Anuradha Paudwal and her late husband Arun Paudwal.
As per a media report, Karmala said, “About four-five years ago, my foster father Ponnachan confessed on his deathbed that my biological mother was actually Anuradha Paudwal. I was told that I was four days old when I was handed over to my foster parents.”
In an interaction with a media portal, the singer refuted all these claims and said, “That woman has lost her mental balance. There is nothing at all. It is just like that tomorrow any woman will get up and accuse you that she is your wife or daughter. What should be done”
She then added that she cannot say anything about legal action as she does not know anything about the legal complexities.
“I never dealt with such a situation before. I would like to know on what basis the court accepted the case,” she concluded.
For the uninitiated, The singer is a renowned devotional singer and has worked in many Hindi films including Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Saajan, Dil, 1983 film, Utsav, Beta among others.
