Kirket: “Bihar Ke Apmaan Se Samman Tak” helmed by Yogendra Singh is based on the life of former cricketer and current politician Kirti Azad. In the film, Azad will be playing himself instead of casting an actor.
The trailer shows that after the 1950s, no player from the Indian state of Bihar had been selected to play for the national team until 1980 when Azad made his one-day international debut against Australia at Melbourne.
The film also stars other former cricketers like Maninder Singh, Manoj Prabhakar, and Atul Wassan. Actors Vishal Tiwari, Sonam Chhabra, and Sonu Jha are also part of the film
Azad had played seven test matches and 25 one-day internationals. The high point of his career was his contribution in the semi-final of 1983 World Cup against England where he took the prized wicket of the dangerous player, Ian Botham.
