Koena Mitra sentenced to six months jail in cheque bouncing case

Koena Mitra who is known for her famous song O Saki Saki has landed herself in trouble as a metropolitan magistrate’s court has convicted the actress in a cheque bouncing case. She has been sentenced to a six-month jail term and has been asked to pay a fine of Rs 4.64 lakh with interest of Rs 1.64 lakh to model Poonam Sethi.

In July 2013, Poonam Sethi has filed a case against Koena Mitra after her cheque bounced for wants of funds but the actress has denied such allegations and said she will challenge the judgment.

The magistrate of Andheri Metropolitan court while passing the order had rejected most of all the arguments given by Koena Mitra among which she also said that Poonam Sethi does not have enough financial capacity to lend Rs 22 lakh.

The actress has however said that the case is false and she has been framed in it. During the final argument of the case, her lawyer wasn’t present in the court and her side of the argument wasn’t heard. The order was passed without hearing her side. She also told that she will be challenging the judgment in the higher court and her lawyers are working on the plea.

Koena is recently grabbing eyeballs after she had tweeted against Nora Fatehi for her reprised version of song O Saki Saki. The song has crossed 30 million views of YouTube.
