Late Kadar Khan's son Sarfaraz lashes out at Govinda

Veteran actor and writer Kader Khan passed away on December 31. It was a piece of news that crushed us all. Going into the new year, we were not expecting such a shocker. He has made our lives fun by his comic presence and superlative dialogues in many movies. But his son Sarfaraz is not happy with the industry. Recently when he was asked about Govinda’s tweet mourning the loss of Kader Khan, Sarfaraz lashed out at the actor. He told IANS, “Please ask Govinda how many times he inquired about his father figure’s health. Has he even bothered to call us even once after my father’s passing away? This is the way our film industry has become”.

Govinda had tweeted, “RIP Kader Khan Saab… He was not just my “ustaad” but a father figure to me, his midas touch and his aura made every actor he worked with a superstar. The entire film industry and my family deeply mourns this loss and we cannot express the sorrow in words. #ripkaderkhansaab.” But it seems Sarfaraz doesn’t find it heartfelt at all. He further added, “My father has contributed so much to Hindi cinema. We intend to honour his memory in a substantial and relevant way. At the moment, we’re all mourning his going. But I can assure his fans all over the world that we won’t let the film industry forget him.”

Earlier, Shakti Kapoor had also echoed similar sentiments. He revealed to Hindustan Times, “I have spent half my acting career with Kader Khan – we did over 100 films together, the maximum any two co-stars have done together. Now that he is gone, the film industry has been thinking about him. Why do people remember an actor when they are not alive? Why can’t they say something nice when the person is working or when they are sick or when they are struggling? They only start talking about an actor when they are no more and they are not around to hear it all.” Clearly, there is a lot of resentment in their views regarding the industry.
