Lenovo Legion Pro 7 Global Launch: Lenovo has slipped in an updated version of its Legion Pro 7 gaming laptop for global markets, and yeah it brings a noticeable performance jump, largely because of Intel’s newer Core Ultra 9 290HX processor. At the same time it keeps that same 16-inch premium gaming look and feel. The new model also backs up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, so it’s aimed at gamers, streamers and professional creators who rely on top tier computing power every day.

If you zoom in on the main change, it’s basically the CPU swap. Lenovo moved from the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX to the more potent Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX. This upgrade is meant to push stronger multi-core performance, especially for heavy tasks like AAA gaming, video editing, 3D rendering and AI-assisted content creation.
Lenovo has otherwise retained the laptop’s premium hardware, pairing the processor with up to 64GB DDR5-6400 memory and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU configurations. Storage options include high-speed PCIe SSDs, while the system continues to ship with Windows 11.

16-inch OLED Display
The updated Legion Pro 7 keeps its 16-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, HDR support and full DCI-P3 colour coverage. The panel is aimed at competitive gamers looking for smoother gameplay as well as creators who need colour-accurate visuals.

The laptop also retains Lenovo’s established Legion design, including its Eclipse Black finish, advanced cooling system and a large 99.9Wh battery.
With support for 64GB RAM, next-gen RTX graphics and Intel latest flagship HX-series processor, the refreshed Legion Pro 7 is positioned for people running memory intensive software alongside modern PC games. The extra processing power should boost frame rates in CPU heavy titles and also help bring down rendering, compilation time for professional workflows at least that’s the idea.
Availability
Lenovo has started rolling out the upgraded Legion Pro 7 in global markets through its regional online stores.
