Forest Officials and TTD Safety Measures
Pilgrims have been asked to stay vigilant, avoid going alone during treks, and follow strictly the directions issued by TTD staff and forest officials, until the situation is declared fully safe. Similar safety protocols, like trekking in a group and stronger surveillance have been used earlier during previous leopard sightings in the Tirumala area.

The latest incident is showing up during more regular leopard sightings around Tirupati and the Seshachalam forest area, where the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu footpaths pass through natural wildlife habitats. Wildlife experts say these run-ins aren’t unusual, even if people see them now and then but even so sightings along heavily used pilgrimage routes keep creating fresh safety concerns for devotees.
Local authorities have asked everyone to not spread unverified updates and please don’t try to come close to the animal, if it is spotted. Instead devotees should immediately contact TTD security personnel or the forest officials.
