Board of Control for Cricket in India and Vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for IPL 2020. The BCCI sent out a one-line statement without giving any details to say that Vivo will not be associated with the IPL this year.

Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke actor Sameer Sharma has allegedly committed suicide at his home in Mumbai. The COVID-19 tally in India rose to 19,64,536 on Thursday after over 56,000 fresh cases were reported within 24 hours. The death toll also increased from 39,795 to 40,699, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health Affairs. For a week now, India has reported a daily increase of over 50,000 in fresh coronavirus cases pushing the country’s tally to over 19 lakh cases. Suspected militants on Thursday shot dead a BJP Sarpanch in Vessu village of Qazigund block in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Official sources told news agency GNS the militants fired upon the Sarpanch identified as Sajad Ahmad Khanday near his residence, leaving him critically injured.

This is the second such attack in less than 48 hours in south Kashmir. BJP Panch Arif Ahmad was critically wounded after militants fired at him in Akhran Qazigund on the evening of August 4.
