Suspected militants on Thursday shot dead a BJP Sarpanch in Vessu village of Qazigund block in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Official sources told news agency GNS the militants fired upon the Sarpanch identified as Sajad Ahmad Khanday near his residence, leaving him critically injured.
