Court sends local CPM leader sent to 7-day police custody

Kasaragod: The police on Wednesday recovered weapons allegedly used in murdering of two Youth Congress workers. A local court sent prime accused in the case A Peethambaran who is a local CPM leader to a police custody for seven days.

The police informed the court that more people are likely to be involved the crime, Manorama reported.

Earlier in the day, Two days after police arrested two persons in the case of killing of two Youth Congress workers were killed in Kerala, police arrested a local CPI(M) leader who allegedly mobilised a gang to murder.

Police had arrested A Peethambaran, 45, local CPI (M) community member was arrested in the case of hacking of Youth Congress workers Sarath Lal, 24 and Kripesh, 19.

Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi on Monday had tweeted, “The brutal murder of two members of our Youth Congress family in Kasargod, Kerala is shocking. The Congress Party stands in solidarity with the families of these two young men & I send them my deepest condolences. We will not rest till the murderers are brought to justice.”
