As political sphere nationwide is gearing up for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bihar’s ruling party, Janata Dal United (JDU) is undergoing a breach in unity as Prashant Kishor, party’s vice president has declared to remain aloof from Lok Sabha 2019 election campaigning.

In a tweet on Friday, March 30, Prashant Kishor shared the decision. He wrote, “In Bihar, the NDA is fighting firmly under the leadership of Honorable Modi and Nitish ji. JDU’s responsibility for election campaigning and management is on the strong shoulders of the senior and experienced leader of the party Mr. RCP Singhji. My role in this early stage of my politics is learning and collaborating.”

RCP Singh, a close aide to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a former principal secretary to him, is known to play the crucial role in decision making in form of charting out JDU’s pre & post-poll strategy.

The inception of the rift between JDU’s leadership and Prashant Kishor came out in public when Kishor had said in an interview, “I think when he (Nitish Kumar) changed sides, he should have ideally sought for a fresh mandate.” This was aimed at Nitish’s decision of ending tie-up with the Mahagathbandhan in 2017.

Is JDU Vice President Prashant Kishor being alienated in his own party?

If at all Kishore has declared about his absence, the curiosity remains about where would he be during this mega festival of democracy?

Prashant Kishor for Jagan and not Nitish

This election season, the political strategist turned politician is brainstorming for Jagan Reddy and not Nitish Kumar despite being vice president of the JDU. Clearing all smoke, we should know, Prashant Kishor is busy in shaping up Jagan Reddy-led YSR Congress’s prospects for upcoming polls.

Prashant Kishor’s I-PAC team has been focusing big time on Social Media and Youtube to create Public Perception in favour of YSR Congress.

Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) is the platform of choice for students and young professionals to participate in political affairs and governance of the country, lending a helping hand to political parties.
The ‘Ravali Jagan Kavali Jagan’ song was aggressively promoted by Prashant Kishor’s IPAC and went to become the most viewed song of a political party this election season on YouTube with more than 10 Million Views.
In midst of strategizing for Jagan, Prashant came as a target to Andhra’s Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu & his party who alleged Nitish’s lieutenant for affecting peace and harmony in the state.

After completing Jagan’s assignment, Kishor has hinted to drop in for Shiv Sena’s campaigning.

Prashant Kishor’s alienation within his own party is an open secret now. JDU inner sources say that Kishor was in a hurry to climb stairs of power and simultaneously his remarks on Nitish Kumar’s past decision irked party leadership and due to these reasons he was stripped off major responsibilities.

Once a blue-eyed boy for Nitish, Kishor has now been reduced to just another party leader. RCP Singh has proven himself stronger in JDU ranks than newly inducted Prashant Kishor who presently is second in command in JDU.

An interesting two months are set to watch for the political observers as more twists and turns are expected to embrace the General Elections 2019.
