Loktantrik Janata Dal welcomes merger talks with RLSP: Ratanlal

New Delhi: Professor Ratanlal, a founding member and National General Secretary of Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) welcomes the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party merger with LJD.

Speaking with Newsd, Ratanlal said, ” We welcome all the like-minded parties to join LJD and strengthen the Grand Alliance in Bihar in order to defeat the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state.”

Loktantrik Janta Dal which was formed by the faction of supporters of Sharad Yadav who has been suspended from Janata Dal-United.

LJD is open to the option of a merger with Upendra Kushwaha led Rashtriya Lok Samata Party.

Professor Ratanlal said, “Kushwaha is the right person in wrong company and decision regarding the merger will be taken after the formal meeting of LJD.”

Kushwaha is disgruntled with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) seat sharing formula in Bihar ahead of Lok Sabha Polls 2019 and given hint of quitting the National Democratic Alliance.

Professor Ratanlal who is a faculty of History department at Hindu College at the University of Delhi clarified that former JDU leader Sharad Yadav is a senior politician and the patron of LJD and neither a member nor an office bearer of Loktantrik Janata Dal.

Sharad Yadav has challenged his disqualification from Rajya Sabha (RS) in the Delhi High Court. JDU is trying to prove that Sharad Yadav has formed his own political party, therefore, his disqualification as RS member is valid and that’s why he has been sacked from the party.

Professor Ratanlal also said that LJD is contesting on two seats each in the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls and Rajasthan assembly polls in alliance with Congress.
