The distributing resources are in a fair manner by prohibiting public access to LPG cylinders and implementing a complete 5 kg cylinder prohibition and requiring customers to complete e-KYC verification.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced the decision to implement more stringent state control measures because they will help better distribute resources while preventing system abuse.

e-KYC Now Mandatory for LPG Consumers
The government has made electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) compulsory to ensure that:
- LPG cylinders reach genuine, registered consumers

- Duplicate or unauthorized connections are eliminated
Only those with verified accounts will be able to book and receive LPG cylinders from authorized distributors.
The government program uses e-KYC as its main tool for transparent operations which delivers subsidies to their intended recipients.
The Odisha government has confirmed that no shortages exist for LPG petrol and diesel despite the implementation of stricter regulations. The available stocks meet the requirements for domestic use.
