However, the Lucknow cop identified as Tej Prakash Singh shunned away the lady, the video of which went viral on social media. Following the incident, Singh was removed from his post and sent to the police lines.

When Brahma Devi went to lodge complaint, the SHO did not pay heed. She was seen folding her hands in front of the police inspector and crying and when the cop seemed still unmoved, she fell at his feet. All the while, Singh, in-charge of the police station, continued to remain seated on a chair leisurely, with his legs crossed, watching her.

After since the video of the shaming incident went viral on social media, SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani took cognizance of the video and SHO Singh was sent to lines. The SSP said that irresponsible and insensitive behaviour by policemen would not be tolerated at all.
