New Delhi, January 5: Bollywood actor Richa Chadha, who will be next seen in Subhash Kapoor’s Madam Chief Minister, has come under intense backlash after the poster of her political drama was released on Monday. The film is also being accused of caste appropriation and not having a Dalit community actor play lead role.

“Glad to present to you all, my new movie #MadamChiefMinister, a political drama about an ‘untouchable’ who hustles and makes it big in life! Out in cinemas on 22nd January!” the actress wrote while sharing the poster.

In the poster, Chadha can be seen sporting short hair and holding a broom. It is being said that the Chadha’s character is loosely based on the life of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati. However, netizens were quick to point out that the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo had a degree in science and worked as a teacher prior to joining politics.

Madam Chief Minister is produced by T-Series Films and Kangra Talkies and also stars Manav Kaul, Saurabh Shukla, Akshay Oberoi and Shubhajyoti. Notably, this will be Richa Chada’s second film to release in a month’s time. Her last film Shakeela was released on December 25.
