Pune: Bollywood Dhak-Dhak girl and superstar Madhuri Dixit Nene is believed to be contesting from Pune constituency in upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019. As per reports, a senior BJP leader confirmed that her name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.
In June this year, BJP Chief Amit Shah met with the actor at her residence in Mumbai during his party’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ programme. He also briefed her on PM Modi led NDA government achievements.
A source closed to BJP said, “The shortlisting of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the party is on and the party is seriously considering her name as a probable candidate. She has been shortlisted in the preliminary.”
In 2014 General election, BJP has bagged the Pune seat from Congress and its candidate Anil Shirole has won by a huge margin of over three lakh votes.
