Actress Madhuri Dixit who has worked with actor Alok Nath previously in Hum Aapke Hain Koun has finally reacted against the MeToo accusation levelled against the actor last year. The actress said that she was shocked to see their names in the controversy.
“It is always shocking. Because you’ve known them and you’ve not known them like that,” she said.
Last year, writer-director Vinita Nanda accused Alok Nath of raping her 19 years ago by sharing her account of the story. After Vinita, actress Sandhya Mridul and a crew member from the movie Hum Sath Sath Hain also accused Alok Nath in their respective #MeToo stories.
“It is always shocking when something like that comes out. What you’ve known them and what you’re reading is two different people. It was so shocking,” Madhuri added.
Not only, Alok Nath, filmmaker Soumik Sen who directed Madhuri Dixit in movie Gulaabi Gang was also accused by three women for inappropriate behaviour.
The #MeToo movement was started after actor Tanushree Dutta narrated a decade old incident of sexual harassment by actor Nana Patekar. After which many names from the industry were quoted in the controversial movement.
On the work front, Madhuri is gearing up for her comedy film ‘Total Dhamaal’. The actress will also be seen in Karan Johar’s Kalank which is a multi-starrer venture.
