The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) employees begun an indefinite strike from Monday midninght for a salary hike. They have asserted that they won’t end it until their demands were met.

At least one lakh workers have gone on the strike. The police have increased security to prevent any untoward incident during the strike.

Since the strike began, people have been stranded on buses and roads for more than three hours.

“The bus suddenly stopped and we had to wait for hours, after which we were told that whoever has bought a ticket, can take back their money,” said a passenger.

Although the buses have not moved at all, the passengers are hopeful that the strike will be called off and they may be able to reach their destinations.
