Amid drastic twists and turns in Maharashtra’s political corridors, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Rohit Rajendra Pawar has shown support to Sharad Pawar. While NCP’s Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of the state, leading splits in the party and family.

Maharashtra Governor B.S. Koshyari early on Saturday administered the oath of office to Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis as the new Chief Minister of the state and Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar as the new Deputy Chief Minister.

The duo was sworn-in at function in Raj Bhavan held around 8 am today, with the presence of a few BJP and NCP leaders, and other government officials.
On the sudden development, Sharad Pawar claimed NCP was unaware and was not the part of Ajit Pawar’s decision to take sides with BJP. Pawar claimed that NCP does not support Ajit’s decision and that only about a dozen MLAs were with Ajit when he was sworn in, and three of them returned to the party fold later while two others were on the way too.
