Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production ‘Malaal’ released this Friday with debutants Meezaan Jaffrey and Sharmin Segal in lead. The movie received not so good reviews from the critics and nor did the movie had any buzz around it.
The romantic drama could not make the audience to the cinema halls and received a very low occupancy on Friday and ended up collecting around Rs 45 lakh to Rs 50 lakh on the first day.
According to Boxofficeindia.com, “Malaal is a disaster with collections of 45-50 lakhs net on day one. The collections of this film are lower than the likes of Loveyatri and Notebook released in October 2018 and March 2019 respectively which were similar films with newcomers.”
As per the website, there is no hope for the film as the collection is too low for the release size of the film. Although most of the collection has come from the Mumbai circuit with no audience in other circuits.”
The movie has started with a disastrous opening and its very likely that the movie will be out of the theatre in the first week.
The film is helmed by Mangesh Hadawale and is a remake of 2004 Tamil film 7G Rainbow colony.
