Malayalam actor, anchor Subi Suresh passes away at 42

Subi Suresh, a television actress and anchor, died on Wednesday. She was 42 years old. The actress was being treated at a private hospital in town for liver problems. She was said to be preparing for a liver transplant. Ramesh Pisharody, a comedian, recently paid a visit to the actress in the hospital.

Subi, known for her quick wit and humour, began her career as a dancer and comedian in various stage shows. Subi rose to prominence after hosting Mazhavil Manorama’s ‘Made for Each Other’ and Surya TV’s ‘Kutty Pattalam’. The Malayali audience appreciated her quick wit and humour.

She has also appeared in several shows outside of the country. Subi, who made her film debut in Rajasenan’s ‘Kanaka Simhasanam,’ has appeared in over 20 films, including ‘Grihanathan,’ ‘Thaksara Lahala,’ ‘Elsamma Enna Aankutty,’ ‘Drama,’ and ‘Kaaryasthan.

The actress was also a fitness instructor. During the lockdown, her workout videos became a huge hit with the family audience.

Subi, who was born in Tripunithura, was living in Ernakulam’s Koonammavu. She went on to work as a dancer in various stage shows after graduating from St Teresa’s College. Her monoact performances and mimicry were also well received. She is also a Cochin Kalabhavan product.
