A resident of Erode has filed a writ petition before the Madras High Court, claiming that he was the only son of the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Krishnamurthy, who live with his adopted parents, says he was born to late actor Shoban Babu and J Jayalithaa.

The petitioner had claimed that he was born in 1985 and that a year later he was given in adoption to the family of Erode-based Vasanthamani, who allegedly worked in former chief minister M G Ramachandran’s household in the late 1980s.

Krishnamurthy, in his petition, stated that Jayalalithaa had planned to introduce him to the public as her son between 14-18 September. But,  Sasikala was against the move and she quarrelled with Jayalalithaa against it. In his petition, Krishnamurthy goes on to allege that he was not allowed to participate in the funeral.

“On the instigation of TTV Dinakaran, some unidentified persons kidnapped me and kept me in their custody at the Sirthavur bungalow and tortured me. Therafter I escaped from there with the help of the watchmen of that bungalow,” reads the petition.

Krishnamurthy had also filed a petition with the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and the DGP.

He also requested the court to direct the DGP to provide him security. Noted activist Traffic  Ramaswamy is Krishnamurthy’s counsel.

While hearing the case on Friday, the court asked the petitioner to submit documents to prove that he is Amma’s son and directed the police to submit a report on or before March 24.
