Man Helps Woman Stuck on Flooded Bilaspur Road: As the heavy monsoon rains kept hitting several places in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, the area saw waterlogging this week. A young man has now gone and earned a lot of praise after he stopped to help a woman who was stranded on a flooded stretch. This incident, which was captured on video and shared widely on social media on July 17 and 18, turned into one of those rare, bright feel-good moments.
In the clip, the biker first seems to notice the woman, who couldn’t move because she had ended up trapped beside her scooter in knee-deep floodwater. Instead of just moving along, he pulled up, parked his motorcycle, went over to her and with a calm voice asked if she needed help, then he freed her and guided her to safety.

Reports say this happened on Srikant Verma Marg in Bilaspur, after continuous rainfall drowned roads across the city. The woman’s foot was reportedly stuck under a metal rod, believed to be part of a fallen roadside barricade hidden under floodwater, so she was left unable to step out or get away on her own.

The young man carefully lifted the obstruction, helped free her foot and escorted both the woman and her scooter out of the flooded stretch. Witnesses described the woman as visibly relieved after the rescue.

Social Media Reacts
The video quickly gained traction online, with thousands of users applauding the biker’s decision to help a stranger instead of simply filming the situation. Along with the clip, he wrote, “Please help others as much as you can!”
Many social media users described him as a “real influencer,” saying his actions restored their faith in humanity. Others praised his composure, noting that small acts of compassion can make a significant difference during emergencies.
While the rescue has drawn admiration, the incident has also reignited concerns about Bilaspur’s recurring monsoon waterlogging. Heavy rainfall over the past two days inundated several neighbourhoods, disrupted electricity supply and left many roads submerged, prompting residents to question the city’s drainage infrastructure.
