In an appalling turn of events, the 25-year-old Marathi actress and her newborn died after the pregnant woman couldn’t reach the hospital on time due to the unavailability of the ambulance in Hingoli district of Maharashtra.
According to the police, Marathi actress Pooja Zunjar was rushed to the hospital at 2 am after she experienced labor pain. However, her newborn died minutes after birth.
The doctors at the hospital advised the family members of the actress to move her to Hingoli civil hospital, 40 km from Goregaon after the patient’s health further deteriorated.
The family was finding difficult to find an ambulance to take the actress to the hospital but when they did find a private ambulance, the actress breathed her last amid the journey.
The kin of deceased Marathi actress said that if she was provided the ambulance at the right time, she would have survived.
The Marathi actress featured in prominent roles in Marathi movies and had recently taken a break from work due to her pregnancy.
