Mastering MS Paint: One of the additions to MS Paint’s layers panel is the ability to add a new background option to Layers. In this tutorial, we demonstrate how to do that.
How to set background color in MS Paint
-
Click on Layers in the toolbar above MS Paint.
-
The ‘Background’ tile is located at the bottom of the ‘Layers’ panel on the right.
-
You can also press Ctrl+Shift+B.
-
Click OK to open the color picker. Choose a background color for the canvas.
-
Instantly, your background color will be applied.
-
Click on the + icon next to ‘Custom colors’ to save this color as one of your custom colors.
-
To achieve different results, you can combine the background tile with other MS Paint features, such as removing the background.
At the time of writing, the new background tile option in the Layers panel is only available to Windows Insiders on the Canary and Dev channels, with MS Paint version 11.2402.32.0 or later.
