In view to uphold the dignity of Indian media and fairness of journalism, President of India, Dr Pranab Mukherjee urged the journalists to maintain the freedom of the press and not misuse the same for their personal interest.
He tweeted his thoughts and reached out to media persons, saying that they should not deviate from their commitment of free and fair reportage. He said that misquoting the facts and delivering false or manipulated information should not be done in a fair press.
He also urged the journalists to maintain plurality of opinions and remain honest and true to the principles of journalism.
