Devansh Jain, a Class VIII student of Vidhyakunj International School from Khandwa was upset when he learned that he was going to miss school because his school bus was to be used for Narendra Modi’s rally in Alirajpur district.

Anguished over the incident the boy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him, “Is your meeting more important than school?”

PM Modi today visited the birthplace of revolutionary leader Chandrashekhar Azad at Bhabhra village before launching a campaign to mark Independence Day. Devansh’s teacher had told him that school would be shut on Tuesday and Wednesday as buses would be needed to ferry people for the prime minister’s event in Alirajpur.

Devansh who describes himself as a Modi fan says in his letter, “I have listened to your addresses in America where a lot of people were present, but they have not come to the venue in school buses.” He also says that he had never missed any edition of PM’s radio talk “Mann Ki Baat”, even though his friends used to tease him about it.

Devansh is only in 8th standard but his political understanding seems to be too mature. He calls Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as ‘Shivraj Mama’ and requests him not to divert school buses as “you are not like Congress leaders and you have concern for our studies and future.” He further adds, “If you grant my wish, then I will be able to boast that for meetings addressed by my Modi uncle, crowds come on their own and are not managed.”

After Devansh’s letter went viral on social media the school administration withdrew its order asking schools to send their buses for the PM’s event.
