India with its vast magnificence is a beautiful nation filled with diversity from the northern part of the country to her southern tip. With different cultures, people, and places to explore, diversity is the best part of the country.

And to add to its beauty is the government’s latest idea to enhance the surroundings of the Mumbai-Goa national roadway along the sea coast on the lines of the Los Angeles and San Francisco seaside highways in the United States.

This will come true thanks to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari who proposed the idea to beautify the roadway. The minister came across the idea during his visit to the United States two months ago. The plan struck him while he on a trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the Pacific Sea.

The idea to beautify the roadside hit the minister so hard that he asked the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to prepare a comprehensive project report on whether the Mumbai-Goa road can be enhanced like that of Los Angeles-San Francisco road.

People should enjoy their journey travelling by road, feels the minister. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is now in the process to set up a thorough project design.

Under the project, over 35,000 km of the road will be beautified. The government also has a plan to build 2,000 railway over-bridges.

Similarly, 1300 places have been picked in the country for giving roadside amenities such as inns, motels, petrol pumps and helipads. It would offer great business opportunities to the locals. Around 70 tenders have already been floated in this concern.

The government is also planning to bring in a system under which engineering graduates; especially diploma-holders get employment in the area of bridge maintenance and other minor works.
