Mizoram Assembly Polls 2018: Full schedule and dates

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the electoral exercise for Mizoram, where assembly, comprising of 40 members, ends on December 15, 2018. Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat stated that “Voting in Mizoram will take place on November 28, while counting of votes will take place on December 11”. The last date for candidates to file nomination will be November 9 and scrutiny of nomination will be on November 12.

He further stated that the Model Code of Conduct has been put in place in Mizoram with immediate effect.

Congress is currently ruling in Mizoram with 34 MLAs, and it is expected that there would be a straight fight between Congress and Mizo National Front. BJP has decided to go alone in the state.
