Mizoram: Congress promises free laptops for students in election manifesto

Aizwal: The Congress party has released its election manifesto for the upcoming state assembly polls on Thursday and promised to give free laptops to students who have passed class 10 and above if returns to power.

Congress Chief Minister Lal Thanhawala released the election manifesto and pledged to continue with its two flagship programs for youths and farmers.

Mizoram is the only state in the entire northeast region where Congress is in power.

Bhartiya Janata Party leaders have asserted their efforts in making the seven sisters of the entire North-East Congress-free.

Congress state president Thanhawala is the Chief Minister since 2008.

The INC had also promised to continue with its New Land Use Policy (NLUP) for the farmers and New Economic Development Policy (NEDP) for youth looking for employment.

The Congress manifesto also promised to house for all the poor in rural areas and quarters for state government employees in various departments.

In their manifesto, Congress also promised to set up more rehabilitation centers for drug addicts across the state.

Mizoram is going to vote on November 28, and the results will be declared on December 11.
