MLBB Built-in Screen Record: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is still among the top globally popular games for mobile devices. Creators of content made long use of separate instruments for recording their legendary moments. However, this is no longer the case as the company producing MLBB, Moonton, is equipping the gamers with an internal screen recorder for their gameplay clips. It is thus possible to save the great moments of the game without the need for any additional applications.
After years of players using phone screen recorders or third-party apps to capture gameplay, MLBB is adding its own in-game screen recorder as part of the game’s official update. According to recent announcements from esports.gg, the feature officially called the Video Free Recording feature is set to launch worldwide on December 18, 2025. This update is part of the game’s Ranked Season 38 rollout, which also includes new rewards and a brand-new hero.
Currently, this feature was first spotted on the advanced server, where players test new functionalities before full release. That means once it hits the main server on the scheduled date, all players should be able to use it in their everyday matches.
What Is the Built-in Screen Recorder?
The MLBB internal screen recorder is a feature that allows users to record and share gameplay videos right inside the game without the need for any external screen recording applications. This is a massive breakthrough for content creators, streamers, and regular players who are looking to present their amazing plays or entertaining moments.
Unlike typical built-in phone screen recorders, this feature is integrated into MLBB’s interface, meaning you can start recording right from the settings menu during or outside matches. It captures in-game audio, although voice commentary from your microphone isn’t recorded by default, you’ll need separate voice recording if you want commentary.
However, the first version of this feature currently records at 720p resolution and doesn’t yet offer adjustable video quality, which is likely to be upgraded over time based on player feedback.

How to Enable and Use the MLBB Built-in Screen Recorder?
1. Open MLBB and log in.
2. Go to settings
3. Locate “Free Recording”

4. Select the recording mode

You will have the two choices: In-Match (only visible during a match) and Out-of-Match (records even if you are browsing the menus). Toggle the one you want.
5. Begin recording
6. End and Share

This clever configuration guarantees that recording is only a few taps away, and thus, players are saved from the inconvenience of having to use external screen recorder apps, which are prone to performance issues and may not record game audio.
Limitations to Know (For Now)
While this feature is a big leap forward, it does have some current limitations:
Only 720p is available right now. You can’t change video resolution or FPS.
It records in-game audio automatically, but not your voice. If you want commentary, you’ll still need a separate recorder or microphone setup.
Features may look slightly different when they fully arrive on the main server.
Expect future updates to expand quality options and flexibility based on player feedback after the initial release.
