The monsoon session of parliament is likely to begin from July 12, which is five days before the date of Presidential elections.

According to government sources, the session will start from July 12 and will conclude on August 11, as proposed before the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA).

However, the sources said that the final call on the dates will be taken by the committee after June 20, which will be headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

They also said that because of the Presidential election the session was slightly being advanced this time. A session just before the elections will ensure that all the MPs are in the national capital where they usually vote in parliament.

It is most likely that the session may begin on July 12 and end around August 10-11, the sources said.
